Air Quality Cost-share Applications Now Being Accepted
Benton Conservation Districts is currently taking sign-ups for conservation practices on irrigated and dryland fields to reduce soil erosion and minimize air quality PM10 emissions. Producers that are interested may sign-up a maximum of 500 acres of dryland or 250 acres of irrigated land. Fields will be signed-up and ranked on a field-by-field basis. Eligible Conservation Practices Include:
Conversion of expired CRP to Cropland using Direct Seed - $32 per acre
Conversion of expired CRP to Cropland using Mulch-till - $26 per acre
Enhance existing expired CRP for potential re-enrollment in CRP – 50% of actual costs NTE cap
Conversion of expired CRP to Rangeland – 50% of actual costs NTE cap
Cover Crops (Irrigated & dryland) - $25 per acre
Herbaceous Wind Barriers (irrigated) - $25 per acre
Critical Area Plantings - $25 per acre
Producers who are selected will be eligible for cost-share not to exceed $16,000 per producer. All interested producers are encouraged to sign-up by April 22, 2022.
