Lower Yakima Water Quality & Habitat

Coordinating Wise Stewardship of the Lower Yakima River

Benton Conservation District is working with landowners, local, state, federal, tribal and non-profit entities to coordinate resources for restoring the many beneficial uses of the lower Yakima River. Current projects include riparian restoration, creating thermal refuge for salmonids, and water quality improvements.

Benton Conservation District hosts the annual Lower Yakima Water Quality and Habitat Meeting Group where partners can share information about relevant projects and funding, evaluate data, and help develop priorities for future lower Yakima River restoration.
